ETROG LIQUEUR SUKKAH HILL SPIRITS REVIEW

Citrus, so after I had Besamim Liqueur, I moved on to another product from Sukkah Hill Spirits, ETROG Liqueur. ETROG Liqueur is a citrus liqueur. Very bright and full of flavor without being too sweet, again I must say it is perfectly balanced. After a few drinks, I said this would be great with vodka, and we mixed it over ice, then strained it into a martini glass making a very citrus yet not sweet (like a lemon drop martini) cocktail that was delicious.

Looking at the website I learned Etrog is a lightly sweet citrus liqueur featuring the aroma of citrus blossoms. An Etrog is an ancient heirloom citrus fruit grown in only a handful of orchards worldwide. Bottled at 76 proof (36% alc/vol), Etrog is excellent chilled, over ice or as a base for bright strong cocktails. On the Besamim website I did find a Cocktail Recipe page for some great drink ideas. It has won many Gold Medals, from SIP Awards, Craft Competition, Tastings… I purchased two bottles from Mission Wine & Spirits liquor store that will ship it right to your house.

BESAMIM AROMATIC SPICE LIQUEUR REVIEW

Spice seems to be the rage these days, so when I was out I asked about Besamim Liqueur. I kept seeing it at bars and stores yet had never tasted it before. Besamim Liqueur is an aromatic spice liqueur. Very vibrant in the aroma, where you think the spice would take over, and as you taste it you realize it is perfectly balanced. After a few drinks, I said this would be great with coffee, and we mixed it over ice with some coffee and a splash of cream that made a great late night cocktail. The fact is I could drink Besamim on it’s own yet as variety is the spice of life, more my cocktails will be created.

Looking at the website I learned Besamim Liqueur is a all natural handcrafted spirit, made from pure cane sugar spirits, hand ground spices, and mountain spring water, it’s 37% alc/vol. They never use industrial alcohol, corn syrup or any artificial sweetners or additives. On the Besamim website I did find a Cocktail Recipe page for some great drink ideas. It has won many Gold Medals, from SIP Awards, Craft Competition, Tastings… I purchased it at Mission Wine & Spirits liquor store that will ship it right to your house.

HANDCRAFTED ROCA PATRÓN SILVER TEQUILA REVIEW

ROCA PATRÓN SILVER, this tequila really did surprise me, I did a taste test against a handful of other silver tequila brands including the regular PATRÓN SILVER and ROCA PATRÓN came out on top not just with me but with two friends that were doing the blind tasting with me.

So here we have it, ROCA PATRÓN is a handcrafted 100% de agave tequila. After doing a bit of research I found out that this version of PATRÓN uses the finest weber blue agave that this company has available. Their finest agave is all used on the ROCA brand. They slow roast their Weber Blue Agave and then crush it with a two ton tahona stone wheel, the original/traditional way to crush agave. The juice is then fermented and distilled with the agave fibers. All this adds to a very complex taste with earthy tones and a long smooth finish. I highly recommend the ROCA PATRÓN SILVER, another sign is when it’s the first empty bottle on the table. I found a great price online if you want to order bottle Liquorama liquor store has a great price.

HOTMIXOLOGY

Hotmixology hosted by Dave Elger, a life-long affair with liquor started as he recalls his father bringing home rare or hand made liquors and educating him about the importance of quality drinks.

Dave spent many years professionally representing a multitude of top liquor brands including Cabo Wabo, Pucker and Jim Beam, and launching some top brands of his own. Dave’s passion, personality and impeccable taste in fine spirits earned him the privilege to work directly with the Jim Beam family and with Cabo Wabo founder Sammy Hagar.

Today, and after decades of top experience, Dave is considered the “foremost authority on everything booze,” and is a leading industry expert regularly called upon by the media and industry heads. So hosting Hotmixology every week is the highlight of his and many viewers week. Dave’s passion for cocktails and entertaining pours through as he helps to shine the spotlight on some of the country’s best bartending talents while educating his audience on the art of mixology. Each week, Hotmixology brings its viewers uniquely themed episodes and accessible, fun-to-make cocktails in a “try this at home” style — perfect for any amateur mixologists interested in learning how to mix the perfect cocktail or expert mixologists who continue to learn and absorb inspiration from others in the field.

Urbano Cellars 2012 Barbera Award Winning Wine Review

This wine was a bit lighter than the bold blackberry and plumb taste that is evident, it is light on tannins and has a nice acidity very well balanced with a nice long finish, and I highly recommend it for any night of the week.

Facts
Alcohol 14.2%
Brix at harvest 24
PH at harvest 3.65
Harvest date 10/11/12
Bottling 4/3/14Appellation: Clements Hills
Vineyard: Lewis Ranch
Vintage: 2012
Composition: 100% Barbera
Vinification: Grapes were hand sorted, de-stemmed and transferred to 1 ton open bins where it cold-soaked for about 2-3 days before it began primary fermentation with native or naturally occurring yeast from the vineyard. The must was punched down by hand 2-3 times a day. The wine was aged, with minimal racking, in a mixture of mostly neutral French and American oak barrels for about 18 months.
Awards: Gold Medal Winner 2014 Artisan Awards

This wine would go well with rich cheese dishes to a simple pizza or something from the grill, I once again do recommend the 2014 Barbera from Urbano Cellars.

Free iPhone Cracked Screen Replacement

I was in an Apple Store the other day and one of the girls (Megan) working in the store noticed my screen was cracked.  I explained that it happened a while ago and one day I would get the extra time and money to replace it…  Before I could finish she pulled up on her screen an available time and said, when can I make you an appointment, it would be free.  I have had this crack in my screen for over a year and have had other cell phones that I paid hundreds of dollars to replace so I could not understand why this would be free.  I learned that if your iPhone has a single crack not a spider web crack that more than likely it is a manufacture defect and will be replaced at no extra charge to you.  Total time when I returned for my appointment was fourth five minutes.  Now I’m back to having a great Apple iPhone 6 Plus with a crack-free screen, thank you, Apple.

iPhone 6S Review

iPhone 6S What changed? Everything

“3D Touch” a display that uses pressure sensitive technology that makes this phone do new things in a new style. While I was taking a look at both the 6S and the 6S Plus I noticed they are the same size as 6 so my case from my 6 will fit on my 6S.
Rose Gold, looks like it will be the one to buy, especially if you want everyone to know you have the 6S.

No more bendgate, the material used is a aerospace grade aluminum and it looks like a thicker glass. The inside looks like it is built with the same aerospace grade aluminum.

Shortcuts is another new idea on this phone, apple calls it peeking in, you access most resent actions a lot faster. Press and hold on an app and it will pull up a drop down menu with options, you can also customize the dropdown menus.

Camera has a new front and back camera for photos and videos. A better autofocus and a 12 megapixel camera which is a lot more than the last phone that only has an 8 megapixel camera. Do yourself a favor and get the most storage space possible these photos and videos take up a lot of space.

The 3D Touch, A9 processor, Third generation 64 bit chip, 4G LTE, iOS 9 and the new improved camera makes the upgrade well worth the wait, order online or visit your local Apple Store.

Alberta Rye Dark Batch Whisky Craft Competition Gold Medal Winner

Alberta Rye Dark Batch Review

Alberta Distillers embraced this challenge and not only made rye whisky, they made a great one. Alberta Distillers is the number one rye producer in North America with more than 450,000 barrels aging on site, this is not a new brand they have been making whisky for almost seventy years.

The master distillers at Alberta Distillers wanted to continue to push the rye envelope and come up with not just another rye whisky, but a better rye whisky, Alberta Rye Dark Batch is the result. Highly recommended and winner of many awards, Craft Competition Gold 2015, SIP Awards Gold 2015, Los Angeles Spirits Competition Gold 2015, The World Whisky Masters Master 2015…
