Summer Water Rosé is a dry rosé that reflects the pink-tinted dream world of many.
The wine is perfectly crisp lighthearted, and destined for a good time.

Summer Water is more than the rosé of the season, it’s a state
of mind – every drop full of pink-tinted possibility. This dry
rosé reflects the pale pink dream world of our partners, Yes
Way Rosé. It’s perfectly crisp, lighthearted and destined for
a good time. The grapes for this Central Coast Grenache and
Syrah blend were sourced primarily from cool climate areas
like Monterey and Santa Barbara County, and were picked at
21-23 brix for a high natural acidity that makes the wine ideal
for summer drinking. To ensure as little extraction from the skins
as possible, we used the direct press method, retaining the
delicate fruit aromas and pale color rosé is known for. The final
blend is a composition of many small fermentations, each treated
individually with care; the result is a lean and refreshing rosé with
notes of strawberry, pink grapefruit and white peach.

Fred’s Red Mendocino County Red Wine, bottled by McNab Ridge Winery Ukiah, California.

The Fred’s Red label named after the original McNab dog, Fred, and like Fred is a blend of many things. In this case, a base blend of Syrah and Zinfandel but with a large number of little known Portuguese varietals thrown in. It’s fresh, clean, soft, and an infinitely gulpable and enjoyable wine to have with anything off the grill.

My name is Fred, a McNab Shepherd- a working dog established in Mendocino County over 100 years abo by my Scottish ancestors. Back then, we herded sheep. Today, the McNabs on this ranch round up grapes. A sheep dog herding grapes, you say? You may think I’m barking up the wrong vine here, but grapes, patrolling the vineyard, trying to remember where I buried that bone. I’m very particular about flavor and choose only select vines under which to bury my best bones. Better flavor, better aging. You’re sure to like Fred’s Red and so will your canine-loving friends. Cheers!

2012 Carol Shelton Karma Reserve wine is a Sonoma County red blend. 70% Zinfandel, 13% Petite Sirah, 6% Alicante Bouschet, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Carignane and 2% Viognier. They produced 1,513 cases of this vintage.

The back label says,

It’s Karma: if you do good things, something good will happen. Our Karma Reserve red blend is a complex wine that is both bold and fruity, brimming with dark fruit flavors and deep toasted oak. We pass along this good Karma to you… now pay it forward!

2015 Carol Shelton Coquille Blanc

Originally this wine was created in 2008 to celebrate the wineries 10th anniversary. The exotic compexity and food friendliness of a white Rone-style bland makes this a “red drinkers white” a complex alternative to the more one dimensional white varietal wines like Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc.

Coquille, is pronounced “ko-keel” it is French for shellfish or scallop.

Winemaker’s tasting notes, exotic nose of spicy pears and white peaches, almond paste/marzipan, a touch of honeysuckle perfume. In the mouth it is chrisply dry yet creamy and round and full-bodied, with nice almond paste on crisp-yet-juicy pear fruit.

Fermentation Characteristics, 100% barrel fermented, then stirred every 10 days for 9 months

Cellar Storage Aging, nine months in older French oak barrels

Alcohol – 13.2%
Residual Sugar – 0.35%
Total Acidity – 0.65 gm/100ml
pH – 3.40

Varietals – 38% Grenache blanc, 32% Roussanne, 20% Viognier, 10% Marsanne

2016 Wild Thing Rendezvous Rosé Carol Shelton Review

Carold Shelton’s 2016 Rendezvous Rosé is a dry rosé from Mendocino County and uses organicaly grown grapes. This wine was created by bleeding half of the “pink” juice off of red Carignane grapes a full three days after crushing them, it is fermented cold like a white wine to retain the crisp strawberry fruitiness.

Winemaker’s Tasting Notes, Light cranberry color, juicy strawberry-watermelon fruit aromas, nice mineral, hint of pink grapefruit. Refreshingly crisp and dry. Great with almost any food, from sushi to salmon to BBQ.

Fermentation, cold maceration for three days on skins to winemaker’s discretion, then 50% of juice was drained then cold-settled and cold fermented. Cellar storage aging was in 100% stainless steel.

Total Acidity – 0.56 gm/100ml
ph – 3.40

Varietal – 99% Carignane, 4% Zinfandel, 1.5% each Pinot Noir, Petite Sirah, Cabernet and Viognier

Appellation – 90% Mendocino County, Cox vinyard, organically grown, CCOF certified, 9% sustainably grown in Sonoma County and 1% sustainably grown in Placer County.

2014 Wild Thing Old Vine Zinfandel Review

Carol Shelton is known for being the most awarded winemaker in the United States. She has worked with some of the top winemakers including Robert Mondavi and Andre Tchelistcheff. In 2000, she launched her own brand of wine named Carol Shelton Wines, with a focus on Zinfandels.

2014 Wild Thing Old Vine Zinfandel is 77% Zinfandel, 9% Carignane, 8% Primitivo 2% Syrah, 2% Alicante Bouchet, 1 % Barbera and 1% Petite Sirah. It is a very well made great wine with full aromos and flavors of black cherry, ripe plum, berry and a slight spice of vanilla, oak and pepper. Smooth textured in the mouth and the palate is very creamy and round, with a finish that is long with lush jammy fruit. 2014 was a very dry vear, these grapes love heat and the struggle of the drought has produced beautiful dense fruit flavors.

Cellar Storage Aging – 10 months in 87% American and 13% French barrels, 35% new oak barrels

pH – 3.65
