Hermosa Tequila Bottle Beach

Hermosa Tequila Ultra Premium Tequila

Hermosa Tequila

I had the opportunity to try this new tequila that will be out later this month. Wow, I have tasted many tequila brands but this tequila was so smooth I ended up drinking most of the bottle. This is an ultra premium silver tequila that is very drinkable and hang-over free, no impurities and made from 100% Agave. They said they will be out with a reposado and añejo soon as both are in barrels right now.

What does Hermosa mean in english?
Hermosa means beautiful… and so much more something described as Hermosa is not only beautful but quite possibly the most amazing person/thing on this planet and for reasons you can not describe in any language!

Yes Way Rosé! 2016 Summer Water Rosé Wine Review

2016 Summer Water Rosé Wine Review

Yes Way Rosé

I like it then I tasted it and I LOVE it!

Summer Water Rosé is a dry rosé that reflects the pink-tinted dream world of many.
The wine is perfectly crisp lighthearted, and destined for a good time.
Drink chilled with the ones you love, is what they say on the back label.

Summer Water is more than the rosé of the season, it’s a state
of mind – every drop full of pink-tinted possibility. This dry
rosé reflects the pale pink dream world of our partners, Yes
Way Rosé. It’s perfectly crisp, lighthearted and destined for
a good time. The grapes for this Central Coast Grenache and
Syrah blend were sourced primarily from cool climate areas
like Monterey and Santa Barbara County, and were picked at
21-23 brix for a high natural acidity that makes the wine ideal
for summer drinking. To ensure as little extraction from the skins
as possible, we used the direct press method, retaining the
delicate fruit aromas and pale color rosé is known for. The final
blend is a composition of many small fermentations, each treated
individually with care; the result is a lean and refreshing rosé with
notes of strawberry, pink grapefruit and white peach.

Sexy Mermaid Rosé or Rabble Tooth & Nail Rosé Wine

Sexy Mermaid Rosé or Rabble Tooth & Nail Rosé Wine Review

Sexy Mermaid Rosé or Rabble Tooth & Nail Rosé Wine is going to be super popular as the label is nothing but sexy, you want the label framed in your study or a tattoo sleeve depending on your age. Either way you will enjoy this rosé as it is big, round and fruit driven. Not so much that it screams California, if you blind taste this rosé you may say it is from France. Made from Estrella-clone Syrah from the Mossfire Ranch, a scenic 320 acre property on the eastern side of Paso Robles, CA. Paso Robles is known for superior fruit, and amazing scenery. This is going to be an amazing summer, wine- stock up!

Fred's Red Mendocino County Red Wine

Fred’s Red Mendocino County Red Wine Review

Fred’s Red Mendocino County Red Wine, bottled by McNab Ridge Winery Ukiah, California.

The Fred’s Red label named after the original McNab dog, Fred, and like Fred is a blend of many things. In this case, a base blend of Syrah and Zinfandel but with a large number of little known Portuguese varietals thrown in. It’s fresh, clean, soft, and an infinitely gulpable and enjoyable wine to have with anything off the grill.

On The Back Label

My name is Fred, a McNab Shepherd- a working dog established in Mendocino County over 100 years abo by my Scottish ancestors. Back then, we herded sheep. Today, the McNabs on this ranch round up grapes. A sheep dog herding grapes, you say? You may think I’m barking up the wrong vine here, but grapes, patrolling the vineyard, trying to remember where I buried that bone. I’m very particular about flavor and choose only select vines under which to bury my best bones. Better flavor, better aging. You’re sure to like Fred’s Red and so will your canine-loving friends. Cheers!

2015 Carol Shelton Coquille Blanc Paso Robles

2015 Carol Shelton Coquille Blanc Paso Robles Review

2015 Carol Shelton Coquille Blanc

Originally this wine was created in 2008 to celebrate the wineries 10th anniversary. The exotic compexity and food friendliness of a white Rone-style bland makes this a “red drinkers white” a complex alternative to the more one dimensional white varietal wines like Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc.

Coquille, is pronounced “ko-keel” it is French for shellfish or scallop.

Winemaker’s tasting notes, exotic nose of spicy pears and white peaches, almond paste/marzipan, a touch of honeysuckle perfume. In the mouth it is chrisply dry yet creamy and round and full-bodied, with nice almond paste on crisp-yet-juicy pear fruit.

Fermentation Characteristics, 100% barrel fermented, then stirred every 10 days for 9 months

Star Wars Inspired Lightsaber Battle Sets A World Record

Star Wars Inspired Lightsaber Battle took place in downtown Los Angeles Friday night when thousands of Star Wars fans in costume gathered battle it out and in the mean time set a world record. It started around 9:OO p.m. in downtown LA’s Pershing Square (532 S Olive St. Los Angeles, CA 90013). Yes this is the battle that you will see in other cities like San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and due to it’s success many more to come.
I felt like I was at the live Star Wars The Force Awakens movie. This was organized by a company called New Mind Space, yet the actual Star Wars fans who came out in drones to participate were the main attraction.

The Mixing Glass

The Mixing Glass Liquor Store Costa Mesa, CA

Have you ever dreamed of a liquor store that only has products you love. I found that store, The Mixing Glass is a craft cocktail lifestyle store, that sells the hardest to find spirits, best vintages and the most relevant books and bartending tools. If that is not enough to get you into the store they also carry hard to find mixes, bitters and more bitters. It’s not a big store, they don’t carry every brand, the carry the brands that bartenders and industry experts are drawn to, not high priced but highly regarded brands. And best of all they have a knowlegeble approachable staff to help make sure you get what you came in for.

Today as I stopped by to stock up for the weekend they had a celebrity guest, Forrest Cokely one of the most knowledgeable people in the spirits industry worldwide. He’s producer of the blog a drink with forrest… he has been a judge in top spirits competitions Miami Rum Renaissance, San Diego Spirits Festival, Craft Competition… He has been invited to distilleries worldwide and has helped produce respectable successful brands. He’s the guy you can ask about a product on the shelf and learn everything there is to know about that spirit. Forrest has a following and for all the right reasons, people are content drinking highly marketed spirits. Yet after “a drink with forrest…” or after a recommendation from Forrest, you become knowledgeable about what your drinking. Craft, artisan, small batch… there not just words put on a bottle for marketing, they are descriptive words that are used in describing unique spirits brands. Unique spirits brands are not in every liquor store and almost never at your local pharmacy. They are rare, handcrafted and mostly bottled by hand, they make great gifts as hard to find brands add value and yes they are worth the extra stop even on a Friday in rush hour.

So what did I purchase today you ask, my usual for the wife and for me ArteNOM Añejo 1146 Tequila, yes I could tell you more about this tequila than my go to tequila I have been drinking for over a decade, thank you Forrest.

The Mixing Glass is located at The OC Mix, Orange County’s Acclaimed shopping destination, located within Costa Mesa’s SoCo and home to many locally owned boutiques, specialty food spots and a weekly farmers market.
