It is a long show yet Neil Patrick Harris took it to a new level keeping the viewers involved, he is sure to be back in years to come!

Corvus Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 Award Winning Wine, no surprise as it’s from Walla Walla, Washington. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is a vineyard designate wine from the world renowned Red Mountain AVA. This cooler year wine is an elegant and balanced wine that opens with a big cherry nose and a hint of spice. Allspice, nutmeg, coffee, vanilla, and subtle tar notes appear on the mid-palate. The nice acidity and bright fruit graduates with a long clean finish that has been a cornerstone of the Corvus Cellars 100% Cabernet Sauvignon since they made their first bottle.
Vicio Mezcal described as the purest spirit on the planet. Made by hand and cooked underground with age-old methods passed on by generations of mezcaleros. The founders spent three years of traveling to Mexico, learning about the Oaxacan culture and meeting with mezcaleros to create the perfect mezcal. Vicio Mezcal has a floral nose, tasting at first you will notice how smooth it is soon followed by an adventure of different tastes that present themselves. Compared to a fine joven tequila, yet in my opinion better this well made spirit has a soft side yet tastes like a mezcal should. 40% Alc. 100% Agave, this is truly an Artisanal Mezcal.
Vicio Mezcal illustration on the label is of the axolotl, a Mexican salamander made famous in a short story by Julio Cortazar. “The eyes of the axolotls spoke to me of a different life, of another way of seeing.”

Bloody Mary’s are real good, especially when you use the Hotmixology Party Box Bloody Mary Mix, just add 80 proof vodka. Hotmixology makes it easy, the creators of the Party Box launched the Party Box Bloody Mary Mix. An award winning, premium Bloody Mary mix, the recipe includes a hint of Horseradish, a touch of onion, garlic, red pepper, Tabasco, Worcestershire and other spices that bring all these flavors together, creating the perfect mix. If you want to add more spice, heat or a secret ingredient just add it when you add your spirit and then shake it all up together.
Created by the host of Hotmixology Dave Elger and his mixologists, they created the perfect Bloody Mary mix, a great addition to the line of Hotmixology Party Box Mixers. Hotmixology Party Box Bloody Mary Mix is easy, you can prepare it in a few minutes before your guests arrive. No need to worry about making drinks individually, enjoy the party. It’s also economical I spent less than $15 on the Party Box Mix and a little bit more for a bottle of vodka.
Here is how it works, Hotmixolgoy Party Box is made with two spouts one on top- open to add your favorite spirit (750ml – 1.75ml) then reseal, shake it for a minute, then use the second spout on the side to pour a perfect cocktail. Party Box comes with 3 liters of premium mix there is room to add 2 more liters of spirits, it will make just over 2 dozen cocktails. Compare this to a pitcher with ice that creates ice melt if it is not consumed right away, this invention makes the perfect cocktail that stays perfect for the duration of the party and if there is any left you can enjoy it days later.
DIY, I like to do a Bloody Mary buffet/build your own Bloody Mary it’s social and a lot of fun. Hotmixology Party Box does all the work, no need to individually make a Bloody Mary for each guest. Start by adding vodka to the Hotmixology Party Box Bloody Mary Mix. Prepare a tray of glasses, a bowl of ice, a saucer with salt and one with celery salt (for rimming). Add a few garnishes I like to do lemon and celery stalk, and done. You can customize your Bloody Mary Bar a bit more by adding things like cracked/cayenne pepper, salt, sea salt, pickles, bacon, garlic, pickled okra, jalapeño, asparagus, cucumber, crushed red pepper, Himalaya salt, shrimp… add a comment with things you like to add to your Bloody Mary.
Margarita Monday is my favorite day of the week, as it becomes more popular week after week it was taking a bit longer to get a margarita. Problem solved with the best invention since margarita mix, Hotmixology Party Box Margarita Mix.
If you’re my age or green and care about the environment you used to pick up a keg and party all weekend, return the keg wash the glasses and rest up for next weekend. That tradition continues yet I have added Margarita Monday to my weekly celebrations and thanks to the Hotmixology Party Box Margarita Mix I have very little preparation. They created a premium margarita mix to be the perfect blend when mixed with premium tequila, not too sweet or too sour, a great melody of lemon and lime flavors with a citrus finish. They suggest you add 100% agave tequila (750ml-1.75ml) for what they call the Ultimate Margarita, I call it the Never Ending Margarita. DIY, I prepare a tray of glasses, a bowl of ice, a saucer with salt (for rimming) and a bowl of limes cut into wedges. It’s like a margarita buffet/build your own margarita, yet Hotmixology Party Box does all the work, no need to individually make margaritas and no watered down pitcher of margaritas.
Hotmixolgoy Party Box was made with two spouts one on top to pour your favorite spirit in (a 750ml works yet I use a 1.75ml for Margarita Mondays) then reseal, shake it for a minute, then use the spout on the side to pour a perfect cocktail. Party Box is 3 liters of premium mix there is room for 2 more liters so plenty of room to add your spirits, making just over 2 dozen cocktails. When you make a pitcher and add ice you tend to get a lot of ice melt, this invention makes the perfect cocktail that stays perfect for the duration of the party and if there is any left you can enjoy it days later. A great idea if you have a house full of guests is to make up a batch and put it in your refrigerator, Party Box will be there 24/7 making you the perfect host. Hotmixology Party Box Margarita Mix has won awards in this very competitive segment. A gold medal from the Denver International Spirits Awards, a gold medal from Craft Competition and 92 Points from Hollywood Rated. Impressive yet I still think I’m the winner each time I buy the Party Box as I get 3 liters of premium margarita mix.
Here is how it works, it’s like a bartender in a box making margaritas for everyone at the party. The host of Hotmixology Dave Elger came up with this idea, working with his mixologists to create the perfect margarita mix, then he create a way to multiply it into the Hotmixology Party Box. The Hotmixology Party Box Margarita Mix is so easy, you can make margaritas in a few minutes before your guests arrive, no need to worry about making drinks individually, just enjoy the party. It’s also economical I spent less than $15 on the Party Box Mix, a little bit more for the tequila and I found 10 limes for a dollar, at that price I should do Margarita Muesday , Margarita Mednesday, Margarita Mhursday…
I went to support Covenant House California and to watch the mixology competition and in the process I found my new favorite vodka. It’s the Skybar at the Mondrian in LA so yes a lot of beautiful people (too many to list) and amazing spirits. The Mixology competition was among 10 mixologists using spirits that were set up at tables where you could taste the cocktails, taste the base spirits and meet the mixologists, ambassadors and owners of the spirits used in the cocktails. The competition was entertaining as 10 went to 4 finalists and they added a secret ingredient and gave the finalists 15 minutes to create a cocktail. The winning cocktail was made by a girl from the bar Bestia in Los Angeles and was made with No. 209 Gin. But as you can see from the photos, each and every mixologist and brand was a winner. To get your brand in front of these consumers is where you have the opportunity to switch a person from their current brand to your brand. I am a vodka drinker and as I love vodka I was drawn to Glass Vodka. Glass Vodka is smooth, I tasted it neat where it has a very refined finish, then on the rocks so smooth and then in the cocktail made by the mixologist, and I was hooked. Glass Vodka is unique, it is distilled from grapes, which gives it a very distinct taste. Glass Vodka Distillery is in Seattle, Washington where they source grapes from local vineyards. I guess it is no surprise, I love grapes, I love wine and now I love Glass Vodka. Enjoy the photos from the event and do yourself a favor and swing by the Skybar to taste Glass Vodka.
American Strong Ale or Barleywine what is Utopias? It is an extraordinary brew that is the result of complex and carefully timed brewing, it is a blend of batches, some having been aged more than 20 years in a variety of woods. The Utopias 2013 was aged in casks from Buffalo Trace Distillery and eight-year-old Port barrels from Portugal. Then blended with a touch of Kosmic Mother Funk (KMF), a Belgian-style ale barrel-aged for at least nine months (and up to two years) in Hungarian oak tuns, that is some information I found on it, now for my opinion.
This beer is un-carbonated and high in ABV, so you can open it and drink it over time, it will just get better with age (don’t store this bottle in the refrigerator a cool dark place is fine). I was told serve at room temperature (about 69 degrees Fahrenheit).
Jim Koch from Samuel Adams says that 2013 Utopias is Limited so don’t pour it like a beer pour small 2 ounce pours in smaller glasses a little goes a long way.
Proof 54 or 27% ABV
Visual – if you swirl it in a glass you see legs, very long legs, color is mahogany/reddish
Aroma – Earthy
Taste – Dark fruits, molasses, sherry like, prunes, berry, cherry, plums, orange, candy, maple, barley, caramel, butterscotch with a very dry finish on the end like an aged Sherry. It is like a liqueur as it warms you, no burn, consistency is thick it covers your mouth.
If you can find it, buy it and drink it, personally think it is worth the price. But good luck finding it, less than 15,000 bottles were brewed. And thirteen states prohibit its sale because its alcohol content exceeds the legal limit for beer, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont and Washington. I live in California I went to many stores to track it down and K&L Wine in Hollywood was out of it yet they were the ones that helped me find a store that had it, thank you K&L for all your help. I did pay $299.99, I know it is a lot yet it was their last bottle and if they had another one I would buy it tomorrow.
