HOTMIXOLOGY

Hotmixology hosted by Dave Elger, a life-long affair with liquor started as he recalls his father bringing home rare or hand made liquors and educating him about the importance of quality drinks.

Dave spent many years professionally representing a multitude of top liquor brands including Cabo Wabo, Pucker and Jim Beam, and launching some top brands of his own. Dave’s passion, personality and impeccable taste in fine spirits earned him the privilege to work directly with the Jim Beam family and with Cabo Wabo founder Sammy Hagar.

Today, and after decades of top experience, Dave is considered the “foremost authority on everything booze,” and is a leading industry expert regularly called upon by the media and industry heads. So hosting Hotmixology every week is the highlight of his and many viewers week. Dave’s passion for cocktails and entertaining pours through as he helps to shine the spotlight on some of the country’s best bartending talents while educating his audience on the art of mixology. Each week, Hotmixology brings its viewers uniquely themed episodes and accessible, fun-to-make cocktails in a “try this at home” style — perfect for any amateur mixologists interested in learning how to mix the perfect cocktail or expert mixologists who continue to learn and absorb inspiration from others in the field.

iPhone 6S Review

iPhone 6S What changed? Everything

“3D Touch” a display that uses pressure sensitive technology that makes this phone do new things in a new style. While I was taking a look at both the 6S and the 6S Plus I noticed they are the same size as 6 so my case from my 6 will fit on my 6S.
Rose Gold, looks like it will be the one to buy, especially if you want everyone to know you have the 6S.

No more bendgate, the material used is a aerospace grade aluminum and it looks like a thicker glass. The inside looks like it is built with the same aerospace grade aluminum.

Shortcuts is another new idea on this phone, apple calls it peeking in, you access most resent actions a lot faster. Press and hold on an app and it will pull up a drop down menu with options, you can also customize the dropdown menus.

Camera has a new front and back camera for photos and videos. A better autofocus and a 12 megapixel camera which is a lot more than the last phone that only has an 8 megapixel camera. Do yourself a favor and get the most storage space possible these photos and videos take up a lot of space.

The 3D Touch, A9 processor, Third generation 64 bit chip, 4G LTE, iOS 9 and the new improved camera makes the upgrade well worth the wait, order online or visit your local Apple Store.

French Toast Crunch Cereal

French Toast Crunch and Miss Cleo Are Back

Retro cereal French Toast Crunch back, General Mills just reintroduced French Toast Crunch, a popular cereal that was around for a decade, mid 90’s- mid 2000’s. It’s back and will soon be on the breakfast table of both hip kids and hipsters. Mom’s and hipster girlfriend’s don’t wait for him to ask, just surprise him and pick up a box next time your at the supermarket.

French Toast Crunch is a General Mills product, it falls in line with a donut or sugar cereal for nutrition value. Tastes like french toast, with a maple flavor and looks like mini pieces of French toast. For a weekend treat that will make just about anyone happy, this is your go to cereal.

If you were listening to NPR today you heard Miss Cleo announce the return of French Toast Crunch. Marketing at it’s best, bringing back two of my favorite things at the same time I’m in breakfast heaven, Miss Cleo and French Toast Crunch are back!!!!

4th Of July Freedom

My favorite holiday is the 4th Of July. Freedom to do what ever you want, it’s a federal holiday so most people don’t have to work! It’s a nice long day, I wake up early just out of habit, eat a good breakfast and head out side and put up the flag. It’s a super positive day more than likely because everyone is very active. I am one who has to be on the water every 4th, the beach, a lake or by the pool as long as there is water. For lunch/dinner the food is usually cooked outdoors, some sort of BBQ, something from the garden and always more watermelon than you can eat. After a long day as the sun starts to go down everyone is looking nice and tan. And here is why I love this holiday, as you may want to wind down, the day is only getting ramped up! As you head back outside to see the fireworks you get your second wind, the night is young and the party is about to get started!

Remember the significance of the 4th of July. It’s Independence Day, the adoption of the Declaration of Independence (July 4th, 1776), declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain, now known as the United Kingdom. It is our country’s birthday so time to celebrate and enjoy the freedom to live the way we want. Especially today make sure you take advantage of your freedom and do at least one thing just for you!

Happy 4th Of July!!!

SEX WAX REVIEW

What wax do you use? “Sexwax of coarse”. I used Sexwax as a little kid (grom), now it’s “retro”, it works/does it’s job, and it’s the “go to” choice for pros/experienced surfers. Another plus, they started using an Eco box now packaging is now recyclable. Recyclable package is made of 100% recycled fibers with environmentally friendly, low V.O.C. inks. This new package is easy to open and can be reused to keep your partially used wax clean in its original package. I love that they put on the side “Please don’t litter”.

The Sexwax I am featuring is the;
GREEN LABEL
3X (XXX) Rated Soft (1X softest stickiest – 6X hardest least sticky)
REVISED RANGE
COOL TO MID WARM
58°F to 74°F
14°C to 23°C
Made in the U.S.A.

Non-Toxic – You can chew it! Not a food item, yet all ingredients are designated as food additives by the FDA.

It is a softer wax some of the benefits are, stickier and easier to apply, it will move or rub away in spots where you put a lot of pressure and use. I am happy with the stickiness and stability underfoot.

Sexwax Green Label is my go to wax, as they say it is, “The Best For Your Stick”.

American Flag Made In The USA, Is your Flag American?

Happy Memorial Day! A happy day it is, no work, no school, yet many think of this day as the first day of summer (June 21, 2014). As we all know it is not nor is it, Flag Day (June 14th), Veterans Day (November 11th) or a day to spend shopping going from one sale to the next. Memorial Day honors military personnel who died while in service. These men and women are true heroes; they voluntarily sign up to serve in a military where they know from one day to the next they could loose their life. Memorial Day, should be a happy day, most people what to be remembered in a happy way, and want to make others lives happy as they are remembered.

Looking around today one-thing stands out, The American Flag. It could be the “first day of summer” feeling as winter is in the past and it’s time to put up the flag. Or the fact that the American flag plays a big role in Memorial Day, when it represents everything that soldiers have fought for. You will notice today the flag is at half-staff until noon, after that it is raised to full staff. American flags are placed on all the graves at military cemeteries, and 3 p.m. is the traditional time to visit cemeteries. What a great symbol that stands for so many things to so many people. What a great symbol of quality when an American Flag is crisp, clean, well taken care and well made in the USA. The American Flag that you put up on this day or any other day is a reflection of you, people notice details and a flag that is well made in the USA says a lot. Some flags that won’t make it through the day, poor quality materials and stitching make it vulnerable to strong wind and can fade with the sun. I noticed my flag is made of sail material, what could withstand more than the material sailboats trust in the middle of the ocean. The label said Annin, what I soon found out was this company has been in business since 1847, it was started by Alexander Annin who began making US flags for the merchant ships in his sail-making shop on the New York waterfront in the 1820’s. The American flag was less than fifty years old when Alexander Annin began making US flags. It was an Annin flag that flew at the inauguration of President Zachary Taylor, starting an inaugural tradition that has continued through the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Annin supplied all the US flags for the Union troops during the American Civil War. An Annin flag draped the coffin of President Abraham Lincoln on its journey from Washington D.C. to Springfield, Illinois. The U.S. Marines raised an Annin flag atop Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima in 1945. NASA selected an Annin flag to participate in Apollo 11’s mission to the moon in 1969.

There are a lot of American Flags that look good, are well made in other countries or are less expensive. The point is pride, the US flag should be made in the USA with materials that are domestic in origin and that all processes in every step of its manufacture are completed in USA facilities with USA labor.   When you purchase an American flag make sure it is from Annin or another US manufacture that is “Certified Made in the USA”.
