I’m dreaming of an ECO friendly Christmas… Do you like a traditional tree but don’t have a fire place, most people will dry the tree out after the holidays and use it for firewood. You don’t have a fireplace and you don’t like to think of a tree that is cut down just for a one month decoration then put in the trash and taken to a landfill. Now you can rent a tree, The Living Christmas Company, a Southern California company now allows customers to rent a living potted tree for the holidays. You can now have a fresh-smelling live tree in your home rather than one that is dying out day by day. A potted tree can only stay indoors for about three weeks before it’s health begins to deteriorate, so plan your three weeks, or do what we did this year and get one tree, three weeks later trade it out for a second one. After a tree is returned the trees are cared for in various lots around Southern California. When the Christmas trees become too big and can no longer be rented they are planted in the community. With delivery and pickup in a Bio Diesel truck this year renting a tree is one of the most eco-friendly options, it’s like Christmas for the environment. If you would like to rent a live tree go to The Living Christmas Company.
Singing Beach Chairs in Santa Monica, California, is it an art display or just a great place to totally relax. Singing Beach Chairs are by Doug Hollis, they are located on Santa Monica Beach between Pico Boulevard and the pier. What are Singing Beach Chairs, they are steel and aluminum sculptures that come alive when the wind blows through the tall pipes. You can seat two people per chair, sit back relax and enjoy the beach, a great spot to watch sunsets. I have seen these chairs so many times, as most of you have and as they are great looking chairs they really do sing, try them out next time your in the area.

I had a very early breakfast and was ready for lunch, I walked in to a McDonald’s in Santa Monica, CA and had such a great experience. I wanted to eat healthy so I ordered a southwest salad, it was 10:35am so they still had their breakfast menu up, salad/lunch menu starts at 11am. The very nice girl working the counter said no problem and another outgoing employee went to get the salad, as she wanted to help out. Five star service at McDonald’s, they both went out of their way to make me happy and were successful.
What’s in a Southwest Salad from McDonald’s? Tossed greens and three cups of veggies. To be more specific, iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, roasted corn, roasted tomatoes, poblano peppers, black beans, thinly sliced carrots, cilantro topped with cheddar and jack cheese, lime wedge and chili-lime tortilla strips (I ordered it without the tortilla strips). It came with Newman’s Own Balsamic Vinaigrette, I forgot to put it on, it was super tasty without it.
On you smart phone you can access McDonald’s nutrition chart where you can customize it to see how many calories are in what you are eating and so much more. Below are the results for the McDonald’s Southwest Salad, without chili-lime tortilla strips and Newman’s Own Balsamic Vinaigrette.

It comes with a plastic knife and fork wrapped in a napkin, so easy if you are on the go. A salad (with impressive quality ingredients), fast, under five dollars and employees who know customer service, you can’t beat it or should I say “I’m lovin it.”
